Important Update on Financial Sanctions Compliance Requirements
Effective from 14 May 2025, letting agents will be classified as "relevant firms" under the UK's financial sanctions framework, as administered by the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI), a division of HM Treasury.
This designation imposes new legal obligations upon us, including the requirement to report to OFSI if we know or have reasonable cause to suspect that a client or associated party is a designated person under UK financial sanctions. Such individuals or entities are listed on OFSI’s Consolidated List of Financial Sanctions Targets.
As part of our compliance measures, we will be conducting due diligence to ensure adherence to these regulations. This may involve verifying the identities of landlords and tenants, as well as assessing any potential links to designated persons.
